Trendbreakers pull off a thrilling 2 runs victory over Newsmakers in the penultimate over of the match. Star batsman Zia and Mani the backbone of Newsmakers were almost goanna cruise along with a fighting victory, but final overs by Kishore, Baddam and fine spin/medium pace by Sai secured a well deserving victory for Trendbreakers.

 

Earlier, Trendbreakers won the toss and elected to bat and were cruising along well till the 10th over, then lost a few quick wickets. It was all a struggle to score runs from that point on. Nevertheless, with decent contributions from Yatin Bhuta and Sai Petluri Trendbreakers managed a decent total of 148. Newmakers tried a new experiment by offering bowling to the batting sensation Sumanth, who bowled superb length, troubled the batsmen in his two overs, and grabbed a quick wicket. Sumanth is now an all-round sensation.

 

Newsmakers opening was pathetic, began losing early wickets. The wall Mani began solidifying the innings by tightening one end. Star batsman Zia joined Mani and began striking the ball all over the field, both put on a wonderful partnership of 48 runs, and when the stage is set for both these batsmen to take NMs home, Mani missed a shot and was given LBW. With his temporary departure, Newmakers began losing its steam. But Zia was still there, giving a lone fight, but got bowled by misjudging a delivery from Kishore. Big named players Uday and Sumanth were yet to come, and not to forget Mani. Baddam, Sai and Kishore bowled some excellent final overs, made sure, life wasn’t easy for any of them. Uday got out soon, followed by Mani. Sumanth tried his best, yet couldn’t take his team home. Sumanth remained unbeaten on 18.
