Another great win by the TrendSetters on another beautiful day here at the Frankford Cricket Club grounds. It was a beautiful pitch with a lot of swing, balls rising high after pitching, offering great excitement for bowlers and batsmen alike. Mohammad Noman’s quick half century with bunch of fours and three towering sixes helped the TrendSetter cruise to their 7th victory in just 26 overs.

Earlier, TrendSetters won the toss and elected to field. Sumeet and Uday opened the innings for NewWaves, both played very sensibly treating each ball on merit. Uday once again showed his good strength of running well between the wickets. Naren and Raghu opened the bowling attack for TrendSetters. Naren bowled a very good first spell of three overs with one maiden, and Raghu supported him well. Naren’s second was the most successful, finished with 2/20 in 6 overs. Kishore and Srini for NWs batted superbly throughout the innings to post a formidable total of 176 in 30 overs. Manish, who signed up with Worcestershire played his last innings with FFCC. He made 13 runs and has bowled fairly well.

A total of 176 was a very good score to defend, but with TS’s opener Mohammed in full form, 176 never looked like bothering TrendSetters. Mohammad made 54, and the total of 176 was knocked off in just 26 overs with still 5 wickets in hand. Mohammed’s 54 included 6 boundaries and three towering sixes. Then, came the best partnership of the TrendSetters innings as Raguram and K.P got together. The duo put on 75 for the Seventh wicket before K.P (39)was caught & bowled by skipper Kuldeep. Krishan Prasad (a.k.a KP) 39 and Raguram (40*) took TrendSetters to a win in just 26 overs, a comprehensive five-wicket win. Raguram and K.P hit five fours and one six in their innings, both batsmen made batting look very easy. TrendSetters cantered to their five-wicket win in style.

Captain Kuldeep felt that ‘not to take the credit away from KP and Raghuram, Mohammed took the game away from him’. He said ‘we batted very well, however, our bowlers failed to impress, failed to trouble Mohammed, KP and Raghu, we looked a bit tired’. With Manish leaving for Worcestershire, NWs is in more trouble in the coming matches. Captain Kuljit was extremely happy with his team’s performance. He praised all his batsmen. He said ‘our talk before the game in fielding paid off, our fielders took good catches, Chetan was exceptional’. We hope to play well and continue the winning streak.

There was a small pizza session after the game. FFCC bid a good farewell to Manish. All of us here at FFCC wish Manish good luck with School and a great future ahead. We hope to see him in Dallas soon.
