Trendsetters record another beautiful victory over New Waves by 2 wickets on another beautiful Saturday morning. Earlier, NewWaves won the toss and elected to bat. Trendsetters though bowled well, couldn’t make good use of the pitch conditions earlier in the match. Sumeet and Chandru though were beaten often, scored freely on all the loose deliveries. Chandru looked dangerous with 3 fours, but was playing across the line quite a bit; one straight delivery from Chetan broke his sticks finally. Sumeet played his usual innings, and the first bowling change by Captain Kuljit that bought in Yatin fetched him this crucial wicket. Yatin, after coming back from the long European tour, didn’t show any weariness, bowled good length and was rewarded accordingly. Sumeet made the highest contribution to NWs, Zia, Harish baddam batted very well too and the team collectively put up a decent score of 131/7 in the allotted 30 overs with Baddam remaining not out after making 29 runs. Madhu bowled a good spell for TS, shared 2 wickets along with Yatin and Chetan, Badri took 1 wicket.

TS openers failed to impress this time. Satya opened with KP, the out of form Satya got out quickly to a rising delivery from Zia that took an outside edge and Yatin caught it with ease. KP followed Satya to another beautiful delivery from Zia. Last match Hero and new found asset to TS, Prashanth couldn’t play his usual innings, added to that, the other end was losing wickets at regular intervals. NWs bowled quick and stuck to the task in the beginning, Prashanth lofted Sumeet’s delivery only to find a fielder at silly point, Yatin took the catch comfortably. Chetan joined Naren, punished Sumeet’s loose deliveries to the boundary twice. Naren, once again was run out making an unnecessary suicidal call. He needs to practice some running between the wickets for future games. Captain Kuljit didn’t last long, Chetan took the responsibility to carry the innings for TS, came back from his recent run drought, blasted NWs everywhere. Zia bowled exceptionally well in his second spell, and when Chetan was about to get his half-century, was bowled, when Chetan looked to hit to the mid-on area. Chetan made a well deserving 48 and was adjudged man of the match. Yatin and Madhu continued where Chetan left off, played carefully not to loose any more wickets. Rajinder Bal dropped a shot hit by Madhu, in the process pushed the ball out of the boundary for a six. Earlier, Chetan got a life, when KP and Zia together dropped his catch. Calling for catches is very important; these catches would have made a difference to today’s game. Yatin and Madhu however cruised TS to a well deserving victory with 6.4 overs left. Yatin made good 19 and Madhu remained on 14. Zia was the pick of the bowlers, ended with 3 wickets.
