NewWaves score 194/6 TrendSetters score 169/ all out
Except for playing on a new field (FFCC is renovating the old field),
there was nothing different in the way this week's game started. Kuldeep won
the toss and elected to bat. But the whole thing changed at the end of Newwaves
batting. During first half of the game there are two players who need special
mention here.
Newwaves captain Kuldeep seems to perform well when his captaincy
seems to be under threat. When he was at 18 during the 10th over he retired but
came back to hit 40. His total of 58 NOT OUT included four 6's and four 4's. He
took the Trendsetter's bowlers to task hitting them all over the field.
Trendsetter's ace bowler Yatin looked like his usual self when he
gave 9 runs off his first four overs. But when he came back for his second
spell, Kuldeep was extremely harsh on him. Yatin finished his six overs
conceding 41 runs with no wickets.
Newwaves hit 194/6 in 30 overs. Kuldeep's 58 was well supported by
an impressive 30 by Zia and 14 each by Kishore T and Sai Talpa. Ofcourse 46
extras did help Newwaves build the score. As for Trendsetters bowling Raghu
seemed to fare well with 21 off 4 overs with 1 wicket.
Trendsetters batsmen did their best to catchup but the fall of
wickets at regular intervals did hinder their plans. Chetan was the only one in
the top order who did some damage to the Newwaves bowling hitting 26, which
included two 6's. At the end there was a valiant effort by Rajesh G (44 with
eight 4's) and Yatin (29 with two 4's) but Zia hit the last nail by getting
Yatin out. Trendsetters did come close with 169 all out, once again showing the
weakness in the Newwaves bowling lineup.
Newwaves Rajinder Singh finished as the best bowler getting 3
wickets for 25 runs off 6 overs. Three catches and a runout earned Zia the best
Keeper honor. Rajendra Prasad was named the best fielder for his tremendous
improvement on the field.
For the last couple of weeks Newwaves seems to be getting all the
four honors : Man of the match, Best bowler, Best Keeper and Best Fielder.
After the game:
"My averages are up again" - Kuldeep
"Match Fixing? How much did they pay you ?" - Kuljit to
Yatin
