New Waves score 106/7 TrendSetters score 53/7
Opting to bat
first, NewWaves put 106 runs on the board. NewWaves achieved their total
largely due to a string of small but significant scores by their batsmen. The
runs were made largely by Kishore T and Sai Petluri, two batsmen who have
displayed remarkable consistency lower down the order for NewWaves. Kishore T
made 29, with five fours, while Sai Petluri also scored 29 off 55, with 3
fours.
The first three
wickets fell for 41, and the innings looked certain to crumble. But 29 runs
each from Kishore T, Sai Petluri and a
busy 16 from skipper Kuldeep took NewWaves through past the 100-run mark. They
reached 106/all out. For TrendSetters, Rajesh
Ramanujam
took 3 wickets.
TrendSetters
collapsed spectacularly in their batting effort. Bowled out in 13.4 overs for
just 53, TS struggled against all the NWs bowlers. Only Skipper batted with any
degree of comfort. NWs bowlers, in particular Uday P, bowled with restraint and
guile. Mr Extras with a tally
of 15 made a relatively handsome contribution and was the highest scorer. Kishore T was named Man
of the Match for his batting performance.
TrendSetters were bowled out for 53 to give Newwaves a 53-run victory.
