In a sensational and high-scoring match TrendSetters toppled the NewWaves by 97 runs today. There was rain overnight but the game started spot on. TrendSetters won the toss and were looking for a big score to win the second consecutive match. Raguram calling correctly asked the NewWaves to field. Their first five batsmen obliged with quick scores and towards the end paceman Chetan Jaitly used the long handle to smack a quickfire 16.

Opener Praveen was bowled to a very low delivery from Prasad Sala. Satya Modugula coming in as pinch hitter made a fast 23. Middle order gave them the stand they were looking for scoring with gay abandon. They raced to 77 before Satya left for 23. Naren Thota was clean bowled by Krishna G once again a very low delivery. Krishna Prasad made 26 with 2 fours and 1 Six. Kuljit and Madhu were once again in good form making 12 & 18. Madhu hit 3 fours. Skipper Raguram joined in the run riot making 10. Finally TrendSetters made 172 for 8 in their 30 overs. Of the NewWaves bowlers right arm Krishna G had the best figures of 2 for 19 in 5.

NewWaves Innings:

When Newwaves batted, immediate disaster struck them when quick scoring Thirumala K was caught by Krishna Prasad at first slip in the first over of Madhu for a DUCK. Anil Yerram played couple of deliveries and was caught at backward square leg by Krishna Prasad. After Madhu fired out the first batsmen, 'white lightning' in the form of Chetan Jaitly struck the Newwaves batsmen down. He returned career best figures of 3 for 8 in 5 thundering overs and rightly won the man of the match award. Only Opener Sumeet showed an inclination to stay at the wicket, who top scored with 39 runs with four fours as wickets fell at regular intervals at the other end. NewWaves's batsmen succumbed to the pressure of chasing an asking rate of more than 5.7 runs an over.  NewWaves collapsed after Prasad S dismissal at 12 and lost its last 5 wickets for a meagre 31 runs. Both pace bowlers bowled tidy spells in the middle of the TrendSetters innings, Yetin giving away just 8 runs and Harish Baddam only 15 more.

Harish Vajja was clean bowled to Harish Baddam and then Chetan had Kuldeep and Sai Amuluru on the second and fourth ball of his fourth over. Their dismissal was followed by that of Sanjay Singhvi, by Raguram who had replaced Chetan. NewWave's previous lowest total was 82.

It was a good match especially for Chetan. He blasted a quick fire 16 and then went on to capture three wickets.

The NewWaves attack was weakened somewhat with absence of Uday J P, who had to leave to Atlanta for personal work.

It is a great moment for a young team that we had. They had firm belief in themselves and it was the key to our success," said a delighted Captain Raguram.

Captain Kuldeep admitted after the match that his batsmen let the side down.

``It's not everyday a team bowls out NewWaves for under 100, but we just did not apply ourselves at the crease.

``It was very disappointing, but I am hoping for an improved performance in other matches,'' he said.

Chetan Jaitly returned figures of 3 for 8 in 5 overs.

Sumeet Bhel top scored for NewWaves with 39.

NewWaves were dismissed for 75 in 20.1 overs.
