All,

Scorecard

So ... WE WON A FRIENDLY MATCH for the first time since we got a new scorebook (17th June). Extras

was top man again, An enjoyable game today on the FrankFord Fields against new boys NewWaves, a young

and keen team (i.e. they appeal a lot), A crucial match between two teams unbeaten this Sunday, saw the

TrendSetters come out victorious by 3 balls to spare.

Captain Kuldeep Singh Nijjar won the toss and elected to bat, NewWaves batted first, and made 182

for 5 in 30 overs,

Scorecard

If you're thinking that 44, 33, 27, 12 etc…don't make 182, you're right. The TrendSetters gave away

46 extras; the TrendSetters bowling a total of 46 wides helped this huge score.  So NWs gained an

extra 7.4 overs from the wides. Sportingly, we resisted the temptation to applaud when the wides

reached more that the total overs...

After a slowish start, Kishore and Uday Poosarla came in and slapped the ball all around the park,

Kishore making a fine 27 not out, and Uday 44 not out, With middle order Anil Yerram and G Krishna

contributing 32 and 12 respectively, Jagdish chipping in with 7 and a magnificent innings from

Extras, NewWaves set an almost impossible task of 183 off 30 overs.

Top bowling from TrendSetters, Satish Arravalli, with figures of 6 Overs, 1 wickets for 23 runs,

Ave 3.83, 6 (Wides)

A fine day on the Fields, but not a fine day IN the field for both the teams. That's not to take

anything away from the TrendSetters, who put in a fine batting display to record the

Highest total so far this season 183/7

Though the promised 'aggressive' fielding positions by NewWaves didn't materialise.

Plaudits to Bhargava for hitting a fine 45, including quite a few off the opening bowlers,

An unusually solid batting performance saw us knock off the runs in 29.3 overs, Praveen Singh

hitting 6 fours in his 37, Bhargava hitting 4 fours in his 45, and Raguram hitting 2 fours in his

35. Which is the highest score in our scorebook this season.

On the very last over, Raguram offered a sitter of a catch to mid-off but was dropped by Sanjay

Singhvi.

Did I mention Sanjay dropped a fine catch at mid-off? I said, did I mention Sanjay dropped a fine

catch at mid-off?

I'm almost tempted to give Sanjay Singhvi the man of the match award for his efforts in dropping

the most crucial catch of the match and for also holding up one end of the batting - he scored 4

runs.

Thanks to Kuldeep, Satish, Raguram for umpiring during the match, Jagdish Dandu, Satish Arravalli,

Satya Modugula for scoring and Krishna Korada who's blessing worked this time :-)

Cheers,

Kuljit-
