Stunning Victory for NewWaves.
Sanjay Singhvi - 05 Aug 2001 (Scorecard)
All,
Again in the
History of Cricket NewWaves won the Cricket match played last Sunday by beating
TrendLosers (Oops I mean Trendsetters) by 1 Wicket
Captain Kuldeep
Singh Nijjar won the toss and elected to field, Trendsetters batted first, and
made 145 with Chetan remaining Not Out in the allotted 30 overs
Trendsetters Main
Hope Mohammed got out for a pretty low Score and even got out the Same way. The
Match was evenly poised as 145 was pretty good score. New Waves team was very confident,
as the Team spirit was very high even before the start of the Game. Kishore got
out on the Very first ball from Raghu but New Waves kept their cool and
steadied their Inning. The match became very interesting after New Waves lost
Uday’s wicket and Jadgish was the only batsmen
left. TrendLosers
got break at Regular Interval and at one point it seemed that NewWaves won't be
able to but a fine Knock from Jagdish made the Difference. The equation was like
this 17 runs from 18 balls with 1 wicket left. Jagdish looked confident and New
Waves Players started celebrating their Victory after Jagdish hit 13 runs of
Trendsetters main bowler Satish. There was lot of confusion going around before
the start of 28th over as to who should bowl. I guess the captain was unable to
decide whether to give bowling to Raghu or Satish. I don’t think it would have made
any difference if either of them have bowled.
Some of the Highlights of the Game are:
(1) New Waves Stars
of the Game were Uday, Anil and Jagdish
(2) Trendsetters
could capitalise only on Upendra and Chetan.
(3) Trend Setters Captain Kuljit Singh needs to use Proper Judgment towards the close of the Match and the team should decide on having one Captain.
(4) I guess everyone
Played with good Team spirit. We had good fun.
Best Bowler : Anil Yerram
Best Batsmen : Jagdish Dandu
Best Fielder :
Harish Vajja
Best Batting by Last
Batsmen : Jagdish & Chetan
Cheers,
Sanjay
P.S. I Guess Sanjay’s score of 6 runs made a huge
Difference in Trendsetter’s Loss and sorry I couldn’t provide the scorecard, as
I don’t have access to Kuljit’s web site
